Remember that unlike Grozovoi, the Kitakaze have no heal and DM does. Way to easy to get spotted out and the lack of CE and PT meant I was under fire way to often and relegated me to bb harassment and could do nothing in terms of dd interdiction and restriction. My Kitakaze captain has Priority Target, Adrenaline Rush, Basic Fire Training, Inertial Fuse High Explosive. o7, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Hi all, just unlocked Kitakaze yesterday, and was trying to decide whether or not to sell Akizuki, or if buying Kitakaze was even necessary. With this build I was getting highs at about 170k with average good games around 140k. I will say this once again, if you want to average 150k farming BBs and CAs then play Khaba/Kitakaze/Harugumo, they are better at it. Personally I think that CE + IFHE are both required skills. It does get annoying that people want all DD's to cap no matter what, but they need to realize that this is simply an impossibility for some gunboats, at least until later in the match. Still: That relatively low rating, despite my individually pretty good results means: Everyone else is also doing pretty damn good in her. Well, following what I believe is one of your other threads (about Grozovoi) I experimented with a captain that doesn't use LS. I find it interesting that people are taking IFHE on this. In which order should I take the upgrades? Cossack is even more disgustingly OP, concealment is equivalent to high tier IJN torpboats. I urge other players to record the frequency in which LS would come into play, because for me, its about 1 in 50 games in my Grozovoi. Commas always belong inside the quotes and periods, like "this." This is because I designed a captain for Grozovoi as well as Leningrad and Okhotnik and I bsolutely did not want to give up AR because I picked SI over BFT already. Nice. Kita's rudderShift & turn radius is simular to pre 7.8 nerf of Aki's; Kita is just 3 knots faster. It's not something you count on naturally after hundreds or thousands of DD games where this just doesn't happen. Tried this build on day one was a massive fail. The Fletcher on the contrary has a fallback option of going into torpboat mode. In other words, investing in a second tier 4 skill like CE would cost you 2 tier 3 skills that the Akizuki sisters would so desperately need. Plus, further out your shooting, more the rounds disperse. My win rate is better, contributing to the team is more substantial, yeah, occasionally I have to deal with nasty rants, but with everything said I can actually make credits on this ship. This means a 14pt captain is still pretty much a requirement. BFT and SE have their uses also so it is a matter of choice. Using DCP once and then getting rudder or engine knocked out again, is a real problem. With 5.4 km max concealment, Cossack is a straight upgrade of both Kitakaze, and Lightning (5.5 km). Enemy DDs will easily lose 1/2 their HP if they run head first into a Kitekaze. Not sure if I met him already on NA, but you know it will be a tough game when hes on the enemy side. Should I get Advanced Fire Training to extend the gun range or Concealment Expert to reduce my 6.6km concealment? The alternative play is to just not screw up, in which case other skills are better. Not sure I think LS is worth trading for AR though. In other words, it offers you an out if you screw up. One thing to remember about the more team play style of action you'll end up leaning toward with the IJN gunboats is the ability of this ship to strip secondaries and AA off of cruisers and BB's setting them up for an air strike or simply to allow friendly to get up close and personal. With out the extra concealment I'm less tempted to take my large un-maneuverable IJN Gunboat DD in any closer then I absolutely need to be. Harugumo ( DD "Hunter") Same as Kitakaze's build. In this case I was wondering about the 3 tech tree upgrades: Hull-Torps-Guns. I'll check into what I have the resources for. Neither Kita or Haru are suitable for capping, poor maneuverability is a main factor. Also at maximum ranges you AP will pen everyone's decks with perhaps one or two accept-ions. Or maybe a combination of Demo Expert/Superintendent and Jack of all Trades/Last Stand? Did you enjoy it? Which suggests that thing may be just as OP as it feels. You concealment with be sufficient to let you go dark from cruiser and BB counterfire.. and any DD that chooses to chase you unless it another IJN gunboat DD really doesn't want to catch you.. hopefully because catching you means exposing them selves to allied fire. Enterprise. I also use this 2 Builts on my Harugumo. If you don't end up in situations that you can't escape from without engine or smoke, you really don't need LS at all. I finished Kitakaze's grind to Harugumo with: 69 battles, 63.77% WR, 84.4k Avg Dmg, 1971 WTR, and top 50 on wows-numbers leaderboard (and apparently the max XP game for it). The only problem is Chappy, but his radar duration is also very short, if you spot each other, he’s got way more problems to worry about than you (Since you are a T9, this means that some top tier BBs are going to enjoy free citadels). Want DD hunting, go BFT and leaf DE (without DE you make enough fires) Since DE only provides a 2% fire chance to an abysmal 4% I use, PM,AR,LS,SE,BFT,IFHE and CE   this works for me. What is he going to do after the radar expires? level 2. Then its full-on free farm for you. Small, light, and unassuming, destroyers may not be the most durable of ships, but all of them are well capable of punching many times above their weight through a deadly mix of speed, maneuverability, stealth and astounding firepower. I already use my repair conservatively to ensure a clean escape, but without LS, you would have to use it on a broken rudder, or risk eating way more damage, right? I finished Kitakaze's grind to Harugumo with: 69 battles, 63.77% WR, 84.4k Avg Dmg, 1971 WTR, and top 50 on wows-numbers leaderboard (and apparently the max XP game for it).
